Julene A. Powell-Wright, PMP, is a practicing project manager, trained educator, mentor, motivator, exceptional leader, great communicator and organizer, fun and an energetic team player. She has gained all the qualities stated through daily life experiences as well as though pedagogical means.
She is an alumna of Knox College; where she pursued her high school education. At the tertiary level, she attended the University of Technology (UTech), Jamaica; achieving a BSc. In Computing and Information Technology (Hons). Subsequently, she pursued a PgDip. in Information Technology Education (Hons.) and a MSc. in Computer Based Management Information Systems(CBMIS) (Hons.), both from the University of the West Indies (Mona). She received the award for most outstanding academic performance in the MSc. CBMIS Programme from the 2013-2015 cohort.
Julene has worked in the telecommunication sector, participating in projects relating to roaming relationships among telecommunication partners. She has also undertaken projects in collaboration with the Leo Club of Campion College while serving as Faculty Advisor to the club. She has over six years of experience in the Education Sector; having worked as a teacher of Computer Science and Information Technology at Campion College. She is currently the Project Manager at Interactive Toucan Jamaica Limited where she is responsible for the management of projects ranging from website and mobile application design and development and the execution of marketing campaigns for several major brands within the island and the wider Caribbean.
She has been an active member of the PMI Jamaica Chapter and has served as a volunteer in 2016 as the IT Director and is currently the Vice President of Professional Development for the period of 2017-2019.
Julene has a passion for youths and education; as such, she has interests in mentoring youths in developing and maintaining self-value, as well as encouraging continuous development through learning.
