Arvette Henry is a computer scientist and project manager. She is currently employed as a Project Management Consultant. Previously she was employed to the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) for ten (10) years. During her tenure at the JCAA, she has been Project Lead for a number of successful projects that spans the Organization. She has also been the Project Lead for a Regional Project that impacted a number of Civil Aviation Authorities and Departments in the Caribbean and South America. She was a part of the Civil Aviation Team for Climate Change and assisted in drafting the State Action Plan for reducing aircraft CO2 Emissions in Jamaica.
Since joining the Board of the Project Management Institute, Jamaica Chapter, Arvette has contributed to a wide variety of Board operations and projects. One such project is the Chapter’s involvement in National Labour Day for the past two (2) years. She assisted in arranging the Chapter's inaugural Montego Bay Chapter meeting. As VP of Professional Development, she has marketed the Chapter's courses extensively to corporate Jamaica, and successfully arranged two cohorts of the Chapter's PMP Prep course and one of the Agile and Certified Scrum Master course. She has also led many study groups in the last 2 years for students preparing for the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Exam.
Arvette was also the President for Optimist Club, New Kingston twice. Arvette is philanthropic and has a passion for education.
Arvette holds both a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Computer- Based Management Information Systems from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is also globally certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). She is a mother with a daughter name Annaleigh.
