PROJECT MANAGER (CONTRACT)

What will you be doing?

  • Provide project management leadership to various cross-functional teams engaged in the implementation of key transformational and software projects.
  • Accountable for all phases of the project from Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control to Closing. Ensuring the project schedules, plans and budgets are developed and kept up to date.
  • Identify the required project resources critical for project success, including but not limited to; team members, financing, workspace, and equipment. Ensuring optimal use of both internal and external team members (resource utilization).
  • Timely escalate issues to prevent the project team from losing focus and shifting off track.
  • Ensure the relevant project logs are maintained. e.g. (RAID) Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies.
  • Ensure efficient issue resolution and decision making by ensuring that the relevant documentation such as impact analysis, problem definitions and alternate solutions are available to executive management.
  • Incorporate change management practices and principles, fostering buy-in and support for the project’soverall objectives thereby charting the way to overcoming barriers that may occur throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Ensure that all project team members and key stakeholders are informed by facilitating daily or weekly team meetings, reports and retrospective or lessons learnt sessions.
  • Ensure accurate and formal reporting is completed; according to the organisation’s project reporting cadence and project management framework.

What should you possess?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Finance, Information Technology or related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Certified (PMP) Project Management Professional
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in delivering successful transformational or software implementation projects.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or training in Agile project management (would be an asset).
  • Exposure to Customer Journey mapping or an understanding of the importance of an enjoyable customer or end -user experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (such as Projects, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and good knowledge of Microsoft Azure Dev Ops would be an asset
  • Working experience in the Financial Services Sector would be an asset.
  • Detail oriented and analytical with logical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Energetic, forward-thinking individual with high ethical standards, strong sense of confidentiality and objectivity and an excellent professional demeanour.
